Major shopping areas

Nordstan

The largest shopping center in Sweden. Here you can find almost everything. There are as many as 150 shops under one roof, ranging from exclusive clothing boutiques to book shops and a wide selection of restaurants, bakeries and cafes. There are also exhibitions and displays. Nordstad Square lies at the center with a fun, interesting event taking place almost every week. There is a convenient pedestrian tunnel to the Central Station and a sheltered walkway to Lilla Bommen guest marina and the new Opera House.

NK Nordiska Kompaniet

Apart from the opportunity of visiting more than 40 shops under one roof, exhibitions, fashion shows and theatre performances take place here.

Opening hours: Mon -Fri 10:00 am -7:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am -5:00 pm, Sun 12 noon -4:00 pm.

During the weeks 25-31, the shops close an hour earlier Mon - Sat and are closed all day Sunday.

Kungsports Avenyn

This is more than a shopping street. You will also find a host of pavement cafes and restaurants as well as cinemas, theatres and museums. Here crowds of people mingle with the street vendors creating a cosmopolitan feeling, and you will find several stores, including Konsum Avenyn.

Kungsgatan/Fredsgatan

This is Swedens longest pedestrian area, a whole 3 kilometers in length. There are a huge variety of shops and stores. Nearby, you can also find a number of smaller shopping centers, like Arkaden, Citypassagen and Kompassen. Here too you will come across a variety of cafes and restaurants.
