Transport

If you're looking how to move around while you're in Gothenburg, check out these listings!

By tram

Taking the tram is one of the nicest ways of getting around in Goteborg. The city has 204 trams which operate 11 routes, as well as buses and archipelago ferries. The Alvsnabben ferry provides services along the harbour. The journeys are included in the same public transport ticket.

Goteborg also uses the world's most modern system for electronic traffic planning. The city's tram and bus stops have signs showing exactly when the next tram or bus is due. The easiest way is to buy tickets in advance from Tidpunkten or Pressbyrån shops, otherwise you can pay the driver.

Travel for free with the Goteborg Pass.
